Porters Determinants of National Advantage

Porter identified the relationship between the infrastructure of related businesses and the ability to create national advantage.

The factors influencing National Advantwage are shown in fig1, these are used to explain the dominance of specific countries in industries where they no longer have an absolute or industry advantage.

Porter identified several examples of this as shown in the table below.

Since Porter wrote his work in this area there have been many changes in the International economy.
